Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT) faction, expressed his disappointment and introspection over the recent political setbacks in Maharashtra. Addressing party members and the media, he stated, "I never believed that Maharashtra would act in a way that would lead to such outcomes. However, we must accept the reality and learn from it."
Thackeray attributed the defeat to several factors, including the betrayal by key allies, organizational weaknesses, and an aggressive opposition strategy. Reflecting on the split within the Shiv Sena and the subsequent alliance of the Eknath Shinde-led faction with the BJP, Thackeray remarked, "The people of Maharashtra have always valued loyalty and principles. Yet, the recent events have shown how political opportunism has overshadowed ideology."
He emphasized that his party's commitment to Hindutva and Maharashtra's development remains unwavering. However, he admitted that internal mismanagement and failure to connect with the grassroots during critical moments played a role in the loss. "The Shiv Sena has always been a people's party, but we need to rebuild that connection and regain the trust of the masses," Thackeray said.
Thackeray also criticized the opposition's use of money and power to influence voters and destabilize his government. He stated, "Politics in Maharashtra has seen a shift. It is no longer about serving the people but about seizing power at any cost."
In conclusion, Uddhav Thackeray urged his supporters to stay united and work tirelessly to strengthen the party. He promised to make a comeback, saying, "This is not the end. Maharashtra knows the true Shiv Sena, and we will rise again."
