Mahindra Launches the XUV 9e Electric SUV in India: Priced from Rs. 21.9 Lakh
Mahindra has officially launched the XUV 9e, its new electric SUV, in India. Based on the XUV700, the XUV 9e is a stylish electric coupe SUV that debuts alongside the BE 6e. The new electric vehicle (BEV) is priced starting at Rs. 21.9 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a competitive option in the growing electric vehicle segment.
The XUV 9e stands out with its striking design, which includes sharp triangular headlights, projector headlamps, inverted L-shaped LED DRLs, and a prominent LED light bar on the front fascia. The SUV also features refreshed front and rear bumpers, a blanked-off grille, front and rear skid plates, and contrasting-coloured ORVMs. At the rear, the XUV 9e has a modern look with integrated taillights, a rear spoiler, C-pillar-mounted door handles, and a unique alloy wheel design with aero inserts.
Inside, the 2024 XUV 9e offers a premium, tech-packed experience. It comes with a new two-spoke multifunction flat-bottom steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, and a futuristic three-screen dashboard setup. The cabin is equipped with a Level 2 ADAS suite, a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, a new gear lever, and a rotary dial. Comfort features include an electronic parking brake (EPB), a Harman-Kardon 16-speaker sound system, wireless mobile projection, seven airbags, USB Type-C charging ports, and the convenience of schedule charging and cabin pre-cooling functions.
Under the hood, the XUV 9e is powered by a 59kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor that produces 228 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. The SUV is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.8 seconds and offers an impressive claimed range of 656 km on a single full charge. The battery supports rapid charging, reaching 20-80% in just 20 minutes with a 140 kW DC fast charger.
With a wheelbase of 2,775 mm and a ground clearance of 207 mm, the XUV 9e combines cutting-edge electric mobility with practicality and performance, marking a significant step in Mahindra's electric vehicle journey.
