ISL 2024-25: Hyderabad FC Targets Home Revival Against Odisha FC

ISL 2024-25: Hyderabad FC Eyes Home Redemption Against Odisha FC

Hyderabad FC is set to host Odisha FC in a crucial Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 clash, aiming to break a long-standing home drought. Despite showcasing stronger performances on the road, Hyderabad's struggles at home have left them languishing in 11th place with just seven points.

Their last victory at home dates back to February 2023, a narrow win against Mohun Bagan Super Giant. Since then, the team has endured a frustrating run of 15 winless matches on home turf, a record they are desperate to overturn.

With Odisha FC also vying for critical points, the match presents an opportunity for Hyderabad to reinvigorate their campaign and climb the league table. A strong performance at home could set the tone for a turnaround as the season approaches its mid-point.

Former ISL champion Hyderabad FC will aim to end its home woes when it faces Odisha FC at the GMC Balayogi Stadium on Monday night. Despite better performances on the road, Hyderabad’s home struggles have left it 11th in the standings with just seven points. The team’s last home win was against Mohun Bagan Super Giant in February 2023, extending a 15-match winless streak at home.

Odisha FC, currently ninth with eight points, will rely on coach Sergio Lobera to devise a strategy to silence the home crowd. Known for their positional play, Odisha boasts seasoned defenders like Mourtada Fall and Carlos Delgado, who are adept at neutralizing opposing attackers.

Hyderabad, with an impressive record of scoring 43% of its goals in the opening 15 minutes, will look to maintain that tempo and focus on converting chances in the second half. Odisha, meanwhile, will aim to capitalize on Hyderabad’s defensive vulnerabilities to secure valuable points.

The clash presents a crucial opportunity for both teams to reignite their campaigns as they seek to climb the league table and strengthen their playoff aspirations.
